I happened upon Something to be Desired, a web drama — I want to say “TV series,” but this is not TV — and have found it highly addictive. The writing is compelling, the characters are portrayed well, and the background music is excellent. And it’s set in Pittsburgh.
Next episode is available August 23rd.
I was perusing my stats today and saw some traffic headed our way from this post. Thanks! I’m glad to see someone enjoys STBD enough to blog about it. I’ve always found it pretty addictive myself, but then, I’m the one who edits it for twenty hours every other weekend…
For those of you with acting aspirations, here’s your chance:
Auditions for Season Three of Something to Be Desired have been scheduled!
WHEN: Saturday, February 5th from 4 pm to 7 pm
WHERE: Point Park University (corners of Wood St. and Boulevard of the Allies in downtown Pittsburgh, PA 15222), Studio 506 Lawrence Hall.
WHAT: Auditions / interviews for brand new roles in Pittsburgh’s ongoing comedy web series. The roles are unpaid, but the experience (and free food) goes a long way…
WHO: Local actors and actresses (and aspiring actors and actresses) are invited to audition — all ages (18+) and backgrounds welcome!
HOW: Auditions for STBD are extremely informal and consist primarily of an interview and a script reading. Brief monologues are welcomed but optional, and may be left out entirely due to time constraints.
Auditions will take place on a first-come, first-heard basis.
*NOTE* Point Park University does not allow unsolicited visitors inside its doors, which means all interested parties MUST RSVP in advance of the auditions. If you’re not on the list, you can’t audition. RSVP cutoff is Friday, Feb 4.
To get on the list, or to contact with questions, send an email!
